Congratulations Uncle Brent!

We wanted to say, CONGRATULATIONS to Uncle Brent for passing the Georgia Bar Exam. He found out the great news today! We knew he would pass, he is so smart :) We are glad all the waiting is over, and I am sure he is just thrilled to have that behind him. Lets just hope the good news keeps coming, just need to get that house sold!

Blowing Rock, Here We Come ....

We decided to take a day trip up to Blowing Rock, NC to see the beautiful fall leaves. We were worried that the trees had not begun changing colors due to the drought but they definitely did not disappoint us.

Blowing Rock is such a cute, quaint little town. We ate at a little seafood restaurant for lunch, then we checked out the shops. Rob had to have his ice cream and then we took Ansley to a great park that was right downtown. Once we finished checking out Blowing Rock, we took the Blue Ridge Parkway home, and what a beautiful site! Talk about breath-taking views!!!

We are very lucky that we do not live far from the mountains, it was nice to get out the city for the day :) We hope to make this an annual tradition of ours while we are still living here.

This display was out in front of one of the shops, it made the perfect fall picture.

Here we are in the park...

Riding My Horse

Ansley loves her rocking horse. (Thanks Aunt Barbara) It says to not use until they are 18 months, but as you can see, she loves it!

Patterson Farms ~ Pumpkin Patch

Today we went to pick a pumpkin at a nearby farm. We had a great time. Not only did we get to pick our pumpkin, we went on a hayride, saw some goats, pot-belly pigs, horses, an ostrich (who was mean), bunnies, and regular pigs. They also had a john deere tractor track for kids to play on, pony rides, and hay slides. We are definitley looking forward to taking Ansley back next year when she can do some of the bigger stuff. We ofcourse ended our trip with some ice cream on the farm, YUM!

Here are some pics of our lil' pumpkin :)

So, who do I look like?

Yep, you guessed it, just like her daddy! (But she has "Willson" eyes)

Ansley is 7 months... notice the facial expression

Rob is 6 months

Ansley's 9 Month Pictures

We went today to get Ansley's 9 Month pictures. Thankfully we came out with some good ones. For those of you who know Ansley well, she is always smiling, but not today. They could not get her to smile for the camera. Ofcourse, when we were done & waiting around to get our pics, she was all smiles and talking up a storm.

Before I Was A Mom ....

I was given this at my MOMS group at my church and thought it was so true.

~ Before I Was A MOM ~

Before I was a Mom- I made and ate hot meals. I had unstained clothing. I had quiet conversations on the phone.

Before I was a Mom- I slept as late as I wanted and never worried about how late I got into bed. I brushed my hair and teeth everyday.

Before I was a Mom- I cleaned my house each day. I never tripped over toys or forgot words to lullabies.

Before I was a Mom- I didn't worry whether or not my plants were poisonous. I never thought about immunizations.

Before I was a Mom- I had never been puked on, wet on, spit on, chewed on, or pinched by tiny fingers.

Before I was a Mom- I had complete control over my thoughts, my body, my mind. I slept all night.

Before I was a Mom- I never held down a screaming child so that doctors could do tests, or give shots. I never looked into teary eyes and cried. I never got gloriously happy over a simple grin. I never sat up late hours at night watching a baby sleep.

Before I was a Mom- I never held a sleeping baby just becuase I didn't want to put it down. I never felt my heart break into a million pieces when I could not stop the hurt. I never knew that something so small could affect my life so much. I never knew that I could love someone so much. I never knew I would love being a Mom.

Before I was a Mom- I didn't know the feeling of having my heart outside my body. I didn't know how special it could feel to feed a hungry baby. I didn't know that bond between a Mother and her child. I didn't know that something so small could make me feel so important.

Before I was a Mom- I had never gotten up every ten minutes, in the middle of the night, to make sure that all was okay. I had never known the warmth, the joy, the love, the heartache, the wonderfulness, or the satisfaction of being a Mom. I didn't know I was capable of feeling so much, before I was a Mom.

Croup

A recap on this past week, well it has been a long one! Ansley began running a fever last Sunday and it continued for more than 5 days. Yesterday was the first day with no fever, YEAH!!! After a lot of visits to the doctor's office they just kept saying it was a virus and to continue what we were doing. But as the week went on, she began to sound worse and even became hoarse. It literally sounded like she had larynjitis. Well last night we ended up in the ER and they said she has croup :( Poor thing! They think she is on the downward side of it, but thankfully gave her a steroid to help the inflammation of her throat. Hopefully she will be back to her normal self very soon and we can begin to hang out with others. It is not fun being cooped up inside all day for a week.

Sorry, no pictures to report. I was going to try and get a picture of Ansley in her lil' Dawg t-shirt but she ended up throwing up on it :( ....... (Sorry I know that may be a little more then you wanted to hear).

Love ya'll
