AND SHE'S OFF...
Ansley took her first steps around 11 months, and we thought for sure she would be walking around Christmas, but she just wasn't there yet. While at Nana & Pop-Pop's house last weekend, she decided she wanted to started walking a majority of the time. We can officially say our little girl is walking :) Here is a short video.

must be in her genes
Mrs. Diane & Mr. Steve Wardrop gave Ansley a basketball hoop and balls for the bath and she loves it! I guess she just may be following in our footsteps? Hopefully she will be better then we were :)

Ansley's Animal House
We went back to Atlanta to celebrate Ansley's 1st birthday. Since her actual birthday is the day after Christmas we weren't able to have her party until now. We got into town on Wednesday and to our surprise it began to snow, it was beautiful! Ansley ofcourse could have cared less about the snow and just wanted to be warm.....
Then the snow decided to make another return visit to the Atlanta area on Saturday, the day of Ansley's birthday party. I have never wanted it to NOT snow more then I did on Saturday, but we decided to go ahead with the party since the snow wasn't sticking to the raods. I had put a lot of work into making Ansley's 1st Birthday party special, and I really got into it too! I decided to do an animal theme and think it came out really cute!
These are the gift bags I made & the picture holders
And here is the pig cake I made, it took 2 hours to decorate

Ansley again, didn't want to have anything to do with her cake. She was literally trying to climb out of her high chair; however, she enjoyed it when everyone was singing "Happy Birthday" to her..... Since Ansley didn't like the cake, everyone else ate it all for her :)
I had friends take pictures for me at the party so once I get more I will hopefully be able to do a slideshow with them all :) We love you and thank you for helping make Ansley's party special!

Ansley Look-alike Meter
I found this and thought it was really neat, so it looks like she is beginning to look more like her mama! Not to sure I believe this, I still think she looks like her daddy.

1 Year Check Up
The pics to the left were from the waiting room at the dr. office
Yesterday, we had Ansley's one year checkup. It went ok, I guess?.... She screamed as soon as we were called back to the room. She would barely sit still long enough for them to weigh her and measure her height. Rob and I finally got her calmed down with some cheerios and then she did pretty good with the doctor until it was time for her shots! Poor thing, it took 4 of us to hold her down (she is very strong). She got 3 shots and they took a good amount of blood from her arm. They are going to do an allergy test to see if she is still allergic to dairy. We should know the results by the middle of next week. So for now, we have just moved from soy formula to soy milk, and it has gone great! But we pray she has out grown her dairy allergy and will not have any others so we can feed her normal foods.
Here are the latest stats for Ansley:
Weight: 20lbs, 12oz (47th percentile) ... she dropped from 55%
Height: 30 1/4 inches (79th percentile).... dropped from 90%
Ansley is doing so many new things lately. She is on the verge of speed walking. She has gained the confidence in walking and will walk from one place to another but she still isn't full on walking yet. We are VERY close :) .... She plays peek a boo, but she just covers one eye, HA! And we finally taught her to clap. She claps with one hand still and moves the other, kind of like a high society clap, it is too funny!
On a not so happy note, Ansley has become very upset when she is in unfamiliar places. She doesn't like strangers either. So she is going through the whole stranger anxiety thing, which isn't fun at all! Hopefully this will pass soon.
Just thought I would update you on our little one year old. Hope you are all doing well.

Our First Hair Cut
And it went a little something like this....
Ansley began to scream as soon as we put her in the chair. I was right in front of her, I have no idea how the lady was able to trim her hair when she wouldn't stay still. It lasted for a minute and the lady was done. She was just fixing what I had messed up by trimming Ansley's hair myself. She was beginning to grow a mullet! Needless to say, it was not a great first experience at the hair place.
