Aly's 8 week check up

We had Aly's 8 week check up last week (even though she was already 9 weeks old). She did really well and is amazing us with how fast she is growing. We just can't believe the difference between Ansley & Aly. It has been fun to compare the two and should be really interesting to see if Aly continues to be bigger then Ansley was at the same age. They were about the same at their 4 week check-ups, but not at all at their 8 week check-ups...

Here are Aly's Stats:

Weight: 12 lbs 7oz (90th percentile)
Height: 24 inches (90th-97th percentile)
Head circumference: 15 inches (50th percentile)

And here are Ansley's at 8 weeks:

Weight: 10lbs 10oz (50th percentile)
Height: 22 1/2 inches (50th percentile)

Ansley's goes to the Dentist

Ansley had her first visit to the dentist last week. I was VERY nervous about this visit since her 3 year check up at the doctor's office went awful! But our pediatric dentist has a coloring book on their website for you to print off and it talks about what to expect at your first visit. So, we printed it off two days before we went and we read it a couple of times so she knew exactly what was going to happen. She was really excited about going... And to my surprise, she did AWESOME!!! She loved everything about it. They were so sweet with her and she sat back in the chair while they checked her teeth, cleaned them, and polished them. She even got to wear cool pink sunglasses so the light wouldn't bother her eyes :) Ansley was a very happy girl that day.

Here is a pic of Ansley wearing the pink sunglasses (sorry the quality isn't that good, it was taken with my phone)

Memorial Day Weekend

Our Memorial Day was pretty quiet around here. I went off for a little while on Saturday to find a rehearsal dinner dress for Boo & CC's wedding, while Rob took care of the kiddos :) And then on Sunday we hit the pool. We were not sure how long we would be able to stay since Aly is unpredictable, but we lasted three hours! I couldn't believe it and got enough sun for one day. I pretty much took care of Aly while Rob kept Ansley entertained and swam with her in the pool.

Ansley has been taking swim lessons for the past 4 months and I was eager to see how much she has improved. She is doing really well and LOVES to be in the water. We just have to convince her to not use the noodle as much and to just swim with her floaty-strap belt. We had a wonderful day and ended it by grilling out and enjoying the nice weather on our screened-in porch.

Unfortunately, Memorial Day was a complete wash-out!!! We just spent the day hanging around the house...playing board games, reading books, etc.

We hope everyone had a wonderful weekend.

Ansley was easily entertained by my squirt bottle
Aly just chilling on the lounge chair
doing such a good job at swimming
This was on Monday...Ansley was reading to Aly

End of the Year School Party

Ansley's last day of school was on Wednesday :(  Ansley had such great teacher's this past year and she really enjoyed going to school. I don't think she really understands that Ms. Sherry & Ms. Christi will no longer be her teachers and that school is over for the summer... But we will definitely stop by their classroom next year to say Hi!

Ansley's class had their end of the year school party on Monday, it was a luau theme. The kids all had a great time! I do not think Ansley was very happy that Aly was there with me. She knew I was coming but I think she had hoped it was only going to be me. She was kind of in a funk for the first 5 minutes I was there. The teacher's said she just got like that when I arrived, it broke my heart! Once I gave her a lot of attention she was happy and playing with the other kids. They played limbo with a pool noodle (the kids loved it), played with beach balls, had a scavenger hunt for squirt-water sea creatures, and lunch! The teacher's also gave us photo books of our kids. Ms. Sherry is a great photographer and took the absolute best pictures of Ansley throughout the school year. This is something I will cherish ... I love looking at it and seeing how much she has changed over the past 9 months!

So another year down, we are sad to leave Ms. Sherry & Ms. Christi at the 2's but looking for to moving up to the 3's in the fall :)

Here are pics from Ansley's end of the year school party!

this & that

I really can't tell you what we have been up to these past couple of weeks. I am still trying to adjust to having two kids and feel like I am going non-stop. By the end of the day, all I want to do is go to bed!!! But we are all doing well and Aly is growing so much. She is really filling out and on most days she sports the double-chin :)

We went home for a quick weekend visit a couple of weeks ago. Unfortunately, I was without Rob so I was usually holding Aly or playing with Ansley so I didn't take but only 1 picture! While we were home we had lunch with Jen P., visited Candice & Beau, and Sarah, Emma Kate & Jim came to my mom's house to visit us. We had a great time seeing everyone; but again, it felt like the weekend went by way too fast and we didn't get to see all the people we wanted to.

Here is the only pic I took while home (Emma Kate was in love with Aly)

Mother's Day

I had a wonderful Mother's Day spent with my two favorite babies and husband! It started with both Aly and Ansley sleeping in, YAY!!! When the girls woke up, I opened my cards and my gift which I am very excited about.... Rob got me a maid service to come in and do a deep clean on my whole house :) I can't wait to set this up! My house really needs it.

Once we got up and moving, we packed lunch and had a picnic at one of the state parks. It was a beautiful day, a little cooler but still perfect weather to be outside. After our picnic, we took Ansley to play miniature golf. She LOVED it! She didn't want to play by the rules and would just put her ball a couple of feet from the hole and then hit it in. I think Rob was into it more then Ansley...but they both had a good time while Aly and I watched :) After we got back home, we had a nice dinner to end a wonderful day.

I feel extremely blessed to be a mother to my beautiful girls! I am enjoying every minute of motherhood (ofcourse I definitely have my difficult days) but couldn't imagine my life any other way!

I also want to wish my mom (Nana) and Rob's mom (Mimi) a very Happy Mother's Day! We are sorry we couldn't be with you on this special day but hope you know how much you mean to us. And we can't thank you enough for everything you did to help us with Aly and Ansley when we got home from the hospital. We love you very much!!!

Here are some pics from our Mother's Day outing..
