Aly's turns One

We can't believe it has already been a year since our little blessing arrived. This past year has flown by to the point that I haven't documented nearly as much of her first year of life as I did of Ansley's. Hopefully she will not look back and ask where are all of her pictures!

We were lucky this year because Aly's 1st birthday landed on a Saturday so we were able to celebrate on her actual birthday! We just had a small gathering since it can be overwhelming at first. My sister, and the girls were able to be with us, as well as my parents (Nana & Pop Pop). I decided to just have a luncheon at our house and have the big kids play outside. Of course leading into her birthday week, the weather was horrible, cold and rainy, but we got lucky and it ended up being a gorgeous day (just a little windy). We also had a couple of our close friends over with their children. I had fun decorating for the party, the theme was bright colors & polka dots.

My dear friend, Ashley, let me borrow her daughter's tutu and bloomer set for Aly to wear for her birthday celebration and I bought the onesie to pull it all together. Thanks Ash! She looked adorable and I can't believe the tutu didn't bother her at all :)

Another one of my friends made Aly's birthday cake. Kristina is so talented and I knew she would do a great job. I wasn't picky, just wanted something in the color scheme of the party...I made cupcakes for everyone else. The cake Kristina made was so pretty I almost hated to have it destroyed by Aly, which she did. Aly LOVED being the center of attention and absolutely destroyed her birthday cake. I could not believe how much she ate and we thought for sure she was going to get sick. There was a strawberry filing and once she hit that part of the cake, her eyes lit up and there was no stopping her to eating the rest of her birthday cake!

The invite my sister designed, thanks Aunt Kelly!

The day was wonderful and we were so fortunate to get to spend it with our friends and family. It was a day we will never forget and we have wonderful pictures to look back on. Happy Birthday sweet Alyson Lynn, we love you so much and you complete our family!

So happy we were able to be there! And I LOVED that Aly loved her cake, the opposite of her sister's reaction at her first! :)
