We couldn't escape it.....

We have been hit by the FLU!!! Yep, Ansley spent half the day today in the ER. She started running a high fever last night, slept awful, but thankfully the fever was down by this morning. But within hours of being up, she became very lethargic, had 102.7 fever, and even began jerking her body and was completely out of it. That really scared us! It is very unlike Ansley to lay around all day and then when she started jerking, we knew it was time to go to the ER. We had a dr. appt at 3:30 but couldn't make it until then. Sure enough we get to the ER and Ansley's temp read 103.4, she was burning up!

After lots of tests, and a very unhappy little girl (don't blame her), she tested positive for the flu. I am glad we know what she has, but there is nothing they can do for her. They just said to make sure she gets lots of fluids, rest, and to keep giving her Motrin & Tylenol to keep the temperature down. Please pray that we all don't end up with the flu as well (especially since I just got over a bacterial infection literally days ago).

Jen, I am so sorry you had to go through this today. I know how scared you must have been when Ansley started jerking. So glad you rushed her to the hospital and didn't wait until her dr. appt.

I know it stinks that there really isn't anything they can do for Ansley but thank goodness it is only the flu. I don't think I could have handled another person I care about in the hospital or dealing with an extremely ill child.

Love you!

I hope Ansley is feeling better! There's nothing worse than seeing your little one under the weather, especially what happened to you. Hope she gets well FAST and gets back to playing soon!!
