a little of this and a little of that....

Sorry it has been a while since I have posted but we haven't been doing too much. Ansley has found her new-found freedom with the bed situation and it isn't really going well. We have had a lot of no-naps and late nights before she finally falls asleep! She is also having nightmares and waking up at least once a night so we have all been a little sleep-deprived lately. I am hoping this is just a phase and it will soon pass. If you have any ideas to get her to stay in her bed during nap, please let me know. I am really out of ideas....
Should be napping but instead at the door

Last Thursday was Ansley's last day of school. I was a little sad because it has been nice to have 2 mornings to myself a week and now I am not sure what we are going to do all summer. Plus, Ansley will not be going back to Williamson Chapel next year, she will be going to our church, Davidson United Methodist. It will be great to have her school only a couple of minutes away and to be going to school with kids she will see on a regular basis. But WCP was a great school and her teachers were awesome. We will really miss them next year.

I took a picture of Ansley on her last day of school to document how much she has changed in the past 9 months since she first went to school. She is so independent now and absolutely LOVED school. From the first day, she never looked back and was so excited to be there with other kids.... such a wonderful feeling to watch her so happy!

May 22, 2009 - last day of school "water day"

September 2, 2008 - first day of school

As for our Memorial Day weekend, there isn't really much say. We didn't do a whole lot. The weather was so crummy with rain every day. We were able to get outside one day during the break from storms to enjoy the park. But other then that we just stayed inside. Rob and I took advantage of the bad weather by getting some house projects done (so again, nothing too exciting).
at the yacht club watching the boats come in and the ducks swim in the lake

throwing rocks in the lake... our favorite thing to do

We are ready for this rain to be over with so we can start going to the pool and just being outside! We hope everyone had a great Memorial Day Weekend!!!

I can't believe how much she has grown since the first day of school!!! Her baby face has changed so much. I remember the sadness when the kids had their last day of school each year...just another rite of passage. Sorry the naptimes aren't going well in the big girl bed...just be consistently firm with her. Thanks for the update on Miss Thang....here's to better weather! love, Mimi

What a stinker! Jen, I agree with Nan just be stern with Ansley during nap time and she will eventually understand its not playtime. Maddie always plays for a while...tears her room apart and then finally crashes. We are having a ruff time now but I think she is about over naps which is not good for me. :)

I am glad you guys got into Davidson for next year. Ansley is going to love meeting new people and being with her friends on a more regular basis. She has really grown since the beginning of the year. Definitely lost that baby face!

That picture of her fingers under the door is classic! I think I would look at that every day just to make myself laugh. She'll appreciate that one when she's older.

I'm so glad to hear how independent she is! Must means she feels very safe and confidant and that comes from good parents:)
