Aunt Kelly, Maddie, Hailey & Nana...

came to visit. My sister, Madison and Hailey drove the 10+ hour drive to visit us. We had a great time despite the awful rainy weather. They were able to stay for a week so we got a lot of time to get stuff done and to have some playgroups with my friends here. Last weekend, Kelly left the girls with me and Nana while she went to visit her best friend Casey and Ty. It was definitely interesting having 3 kids under the age of 3 in my house. Ansley and Maddie got along great, but of course had their moments when they both wanted the same toy :)

Thanks Kel for coming to visit, I know the drive home was miserable in the rain, but we appreciate it! And Nana THANK YOU so much for coming up while Kel was in Richmond. It has been too long since you have been here and we had a great time!
Here are some of my favorite pics from the visit....

the zoo

We decided to enjoy the beautiful weather we had last Sunday by taking Ansley to the Columbia Zoo. It was only an hour-and-a-half away which was the perfect distance for a day trip. We knew Ansley would either hate it or love it, well she LOVED it! She walked around everywhere and never wanted to get in the stroller. They had a ton of animals: Apes, sea lions, elephants, snakes (which I hated), giraffes, zebras, ostrich, flamingos, tigers, baboons, monkeys, llamas, bears, a very mean looking alligator, large turtles, etc. (I am sure I am missing a few animals).... Ansley's favorite animals were the monkeys and the sea lion. I could have watched the monkeys all day, just swinging from one tree branch to the other.

We had a wonderful time and can't wait to go back again! Here are some pictures from our day at the zoo.

4 inches

Last night the snow started to fall around 7pm, and it was coming down so hard and fast! It was beautiful, I couldn't believe we already had 2 inches of snow by 9pm. They were forecasting us to get anywhere from 5-8 inches of snow....This morning we woke up to 4 inches of snow, YEAH!!! It was so pretty, especially before people started to drive on it and mess it all up :)

Ansley did so much better this time with the snow. We pulled her in her wagon around the neighborhood and then got her out so she could walk in it, she LOVED it! I put Ansley in her rainboots this time so I think she like stomping in the snow...she kept saying "SNOW"...."ICE" over and over. So this snow experience was much better then the last one. I still can't believe this is our 3rd snow fall since January! Hopefully it will be our last, I am really ready for warm weather.

Back to Atlanta...Hailey gets Baptized

We went back to Atlanta last weekend for Hailey's baptism. It was such a perfect weekend, especially since it felt like spring outside.
Friday night, I took Rob out to dinner for his 30th Birthday. Matt & I had been talking and set up a surprise dinner for Rob, when we arrived some of Rob's friends were there to join us for a nice dinner. We had a great time and he was definitely surprised!!!

Saturday, we just enjoyed the beautiful weather, Madison & Ansley enjoyed playing at the park across the street from Nana & Pop Pop's house. The park is the only thing Ansley wants to do when we go back home, she just LOVES it! Most of the time she will just sit inside and stare at it from my parent's window. But it was nice to get out and let her play for while since the weather was so beautiful.

Sunday, Hailey was baptized at Roswell Presbyterian church (the same church Brent & Kelly were married in & Madison was baptized at). It was an early service, but Hailey did so good. She wore the same dress that both Ansley & Madison wore when they were baptized. After the service we all went back to Nana & Pop Pop's house for a yummy brunch before having to head back to Charlotte.

Hailey has such beautiful blue eyes

One of my new favorites of Ansley

this one is a keeper too!

best friends...they just love eachother so much!

It is always great going back to Atlanta especially when Kelly, Brent & the girls are there. We always have so much fun!!! We only wished we had more time.

Another Snow Day!!!

To our surprise this morning we woke up to 2 1/2 inches of snow! YEAH!!! I was so excited to get Ansley out in it. Of course there was no talk last night by the weatherman about us getting snow, just the mountains. I really think anyone could be a weather man and predict the weather as well as the news people.....
Anyways, unlike the last time we got snow, Ansley absolutely hated the snow today! She screamed when we put her in the snow. She couldn't even feel the snow nor was she wet because I layered her in lots of clothing. But she just didn't like it at all!!! I really do not think she understands what it is.
Unfortunately, most the snow melted by the end of the day. Here are some pictures from our snow adventure. Rob got to play outside with us since his trip to the mountains got cancelled due to the icy roads.

looking at all the snow outside

not too sure about this white stuff!

there's a little smile (notice the tear running down her face)

another smile...but just for a second

Ansley would not move from this spot, which is the same spot Rob put her when they went outside

I have had enough!!!

Tonight we celebrated Rob's birthday by opening cards and presents. Ansley was very proud of the card she made for her daddy! We then went to Five Guys for dinner, YES, this is what Rob wanted for his birthday dinner....I didn't complain! We then came home, put Ansley to bed, and then enjoyed some cake! (we didn't even try to give Ansley a piece of cake because we know she would have refused it)

Here are some sweet pictures of Ansley showing off her card to Rob and then ending with a daddy/daughter kiss :) Happy 30th Birthday Rob!

Here you go daddy! I made it with help from mommy :)Look, let me read it too you!

Happy 30th Birthday Rob!!!

We wanted to wish you a Happy 30th Birthday! You are such a wonderful husband, and loving father. I absolutely love to watch you and Ansley interact, she just worships her daddy!

We love you very much!

Love your girls,
Jen & Ansley
